Operation: One Mile a Day
Operation: One Mile a Day is a month-long challenge dedicated to building connection, improving mental and emotional health, and honoring the people who shape our lives. Participants commit to walking one mile every day throughout January with a person they love — in person, over the phone, or in their heart if that individual is no longer with us.
This campaign strengthens relationships, encourages healthy daily routines, and creates purposeful moments of reflection. Every mile walked supports Gold Star Gamers and our mission to serve the children of fallen heroes and to find hope and healing after loss.

Why This Matters
Walking offers proven mental, emotional, and physical benefits. It reduces stress, regulates mood, increases energy, and strengthens personal connection. Walking with a loved one — even virtually — adds meaningful bonding time that many families are missing.
For Gold Star children, connection is essential.
These children experience grief, loneliness, anxiety, and disrupted routines after losing or being separated from a parent in military service. Gold Star Gamers provides community, mentorship, and hope through gaming, esports, and STEM programs. Your steps help make that support possible.
